7th Backgammon tournament Apologies if this is a stupid question, but why am I not in the 2nd round of the 7th tournament? I came top of my group in the 1st round, but the 2nd round appears to have started a couple of days ago, without me... |

… I notice that there were 34 groups in the 1st round, so should there not be 34 players proceeding to the 2nd round (not the 30 that there appear to be), unless they withdrew of course? I certainly wouldn't have withdrawn myself deliberately, so if that's why I haven't proceeded, is there perhaps a glitch that has accidentally withdrawn me without my knowledge? Might be worth checking-in with the other 3 players that came top in round one but didn't proceed also... |

… igorgetmeabrain, did you confirm your participation in the next round? ze, can the requirement to confirm participation in the next round be eliminated? Obviously, if we enter a tournament its to win it - and that would include automatically playing in the next round. Beyond someone taking a vacation or discontinuing playing entirely, I honestly can't think of a reason why someone that won the first round would not play in the second. I know the vacation topic has been discussed previously, and I think that automatic advancement to the next round has too. Is this on your to do list? |

Check Your Messages You need to check your messages igorgetmeabrain. I noticed you hadn't confirmed and sent you a message on 24th telling you needed to confirm participation. I'm sure I once saw a message from zooescape telling me that I was advancing to the next round of a tournament with a link to confirm? Is this still happening zooescape? |

oops Thanks for the heads-up both of you and thanks muchly aphrodite for trying in vain to alert me. I had absolutely no idea that I had to confirm my participation for each new round. I don't check my messages at all, because that would involve wading through pages and pages of pointless messages about my wins and losses etc. (which is a whole different issue, being discussed elsewhere). It never occurred to me to check. Now I know though, so I'll not make the same mistake next time. I heartily agree with pokhra about automatic advancement. |

… ...and another thing, sorry to everyone that's sent me messages that I've completely failed to see, far less acknowledge with a reply. Hopefully now that filters are applied, I'll be a little more communicative. |
