 Confused about rate increases On mar. 1st. I won a game with a gammon against a player with a lower rating than mine (me - 1684 my opp.- 1663. My rating increased 9 pts. to 1693. On mar 9th. I won against a higher rated opp. with a backgammon (me 1657 opp. 1701) but my rating increase was only by 8 pts to 1665. I thought that winning against a higher rated opp. would give me a greater increase. Am I missing something here? |

formula change Yes, winning against higher rated opponets give more points. However, between the two dates you mentioned, the formula has changed - winning normal games should still work like it did previously, but gammons (and backgammons) are now worth a lot less than before (almost the same as a normal game). |
