Teams? Hi leoton. First of all, congrats on the great job you're doing. The decision on #7 seems fair and it is in line with the official ZE tournament rules. I also love that you are including gammons and backgammons in the tiebreaking. I've always thought gammons should be taken into account in tournaments. As there are a lot of people willing to join, I was thinking we can try and split people into teams so we can have less games and also we can give a test run to your idea of having both team and individual leaderboard. So if we are having 18 or 20 people willing to play, we can have 9 or 10 teams of two players and everyone will have to play 8 or 9 games respectfully. |

Sign me up Please include me in the BBL. Shame about the doubling cube, it's the best way to play. For a blitz league, perhaps shortest average game duration (elapsed time, not turns) would be an alternative tie breaker. It would encourage more frequent play. |

Update Friends, We currently have 21 sign up request, three more than we planned to go with as an absolute maximum in order to keep the tournament fast. While we still have time until the start of the tournament on August 1, I would like to discuss the following: - if we get at least three more players (to get us to 24 total), I’d be happy to update the site to run two simultaneous tournaments with 12 people in each. We can either leave it as two round robins or add a playoff semifinals and final for the winner and the runner up in each tournament. - if we stay at 21, we will probably have to keep last three signees on a waiting list in case anyone drops out before August 1. Please post your thought about this here and if you want to recruit any other fast players you know, we still have that option of playing two tournaments. Additionally, I wanted to ask for your feedback about the published rules and code of conduct. Let’s use this week to fully finalize them in order to start the tournament(s) promptly. Finally, since we might have some folks on the waiting list, we will need you post your final confirmation that you are indeed playing, also due by the end this week. Let’s have fun and best of luck to all! |

Confirmation @leoton, I would like to play, so I'm submitting the confirmation you requested. On the other hand, I understand your scheduling issues, so if you need to drop numbers to make the competition work, you can leave me out without causing offense. I do like the sound of the two conferences. Finals are always exciting. Thanks for all your efforts. |

Confirmation I'm confirming my participation. Let's see how many confirmations we get and go from there. I'm perfectly fine with 2x12 format, though in that case we might as well randomly create 12 teams of 2 players in each and test the concept Leoton wanted to introduce to NTs with team #1 player playing only against #1 players from other teams and player #2 only against #2 players. This way we'll get a good test of how NTs might be changed if the new format is implemented. |

@biokhin2 That's what I wanted to propose. And that way we can include everyone who wants to join (as long as the total number of players is an even number) Another thing we need to work out is a way to couple up participants in teams. |
