... Math teacher here. I love the probabilities too, playing for the most or least likely next event. I love the fact that one has to learn how to play with garbage rolls, and sometimes, it just doesn't turn out as expected. |

… exactly... thats what makes backgammon better than chess to me... in chess if you are a master of all of the millions of probabilities you can beat anyone....backgammon it doesnt matter if you know every possible outcome of a dice roll... because luck is a vengeful vengeful b**** .... you can be 100 pips ahead in a game and still lose on the whims of luck, so to really become a great backgammon player it forces you to really be able to play in any situation and react to any twist thrown at you. not to belittle chess at all...just more of a chore to me then backgammon |

English teacher... Couldn't tell you a damn thing about probabilities, but I can spot a spelling mistake in the comments a mile off... |

Maaannnnn - love the education we have going here! Pretty sweet to see the level of cerebral competition here - not just a bunch of people sitting around at home on welfare! |

Not holding breath well, actually I am, but only because of the haze, not the backgammon. The only games I have left are those with padajp, and we are currently at +3 for him and +2 for me. Outside this tournament he has won nearly 60% of our games, so I wouldn't bet on me. |
