This completely new concept looks well-arranged and easy to manage. .
I have to agree that it will be faster without the delay between phases.
But if someone is still hanging out ??? What we have to do then??? Penalty points? Disqualify member, team? If there are incorrect players and the best idea will fail  .

In my opinion, the number of players, games, phases does not matter for speed.
The classic tournament model (including eliminations) is more emotional.
I support the idea of ​​a classic tournament with clear, unchanging rules, with the shortest time per move (1 day).

Leo - first and foremost, thank you for taking the time to come up with this new format!

I don't believe it will really make things go faster, because eventually there will be match-ups between two really slow players and those games would take a month to complete.
But since all games start simultaneously that would alleviate some of the "normal" delays.

I'm 100% for this new format, and if people still want the excitement of semifinals/finals we can add a second (playoff) stage to this format (teams 1 and 4 would form the first semi, and teams 2 and 3 the second one).

Here are some other notable points:

1. The ability to start all games simultaneously is the key to speed up the tournament. For those who play under the 25 games limit, they will be able to start whatever number of games they have available instead of only 4 in the current system and only if they have openings at the time the next round starts. The games between slower players might still happen, but the whole teams will not be waiting for them to finish to start another round! Also we could consider a one or two day per move format to further speed it up too

2. The proposed system has not only a team championship but also a nice individual aspect. If a player is playing extremely well but happened to be on a losing team, they will still have something to fight for - the individual “trophy”   As you could see from the template, the team competition is based on the four different individual tournaments between those who designated as Player 1 through 4. Every player is guaranteed the equal number of games so it would be possible to fairly recognize individual winners too. This is not possible in the current approach as the whole team gets eliminated after losing.

3. Personally, I would have just enough excitement with both team and individual competition in this system without a playoff. However, I would not be opposed to having semis and finals for those teams who ended one placed 1 through 4 if majority wanted it.

This forum is the place for the Nations Tournament 9.

If you want to be the host of a round rubin tournament open your forum for it.

Everything was going well until a member decide to change the way we were keeping the score. So what happen the host, the Web Master (KumaraKid) and me the scorer we all quit and the tournament stop.

yiannakos is the host and he does a very good job.
Ricetta is the Web Master and she does a very good job.
Me, Bonne chance, I am the scorer.

The Nations Tournament is the 9 years old and we should keep it like it is.

So if you do not like the way the Nations Tournament you just have not to play it.

About people you want to play faster go to play on a other site, this site is built this way and if do like the speed of the game, stop to complain and built your own site at the speed you want. I am feed up to ear you complaining about that

And I finish with this : if you continue to try to change the way of this tournament and continue to complain about the speed of the game :

I will stop to be the scorer, so you will have to find somebody else to take care of the score.
