Great work r4zz Looks full on, but I'm sure it will be great. Adds life to the Zoo. I will have to be patient as living at PDT +16 my Monday is only 17 hrs away. Only possible issue I see is for those that are not Silver or Gold members. They only have 25 games max so if they are in ladder or other tournaments they may not be able to start many games at all. Hopefully they are all fast players. Anyway great effort with organising and creating results page. |

good point!! we can start-- 24 hours from NOW-- where ever you are.. just wanted to have time to answer some questions BEFORE we started-- I can always add a few late stragglers under this format without problem- secondly --- maybe this could promote membership ( but that is not what it is about) I will have to monitor to keep play moving-- everyone should LOAD UP as many games as they can-- I am a silver member and not sure what the limitations are- never reached my limit.. but I do think it does provide a format that has not been here before--- keep in mind this is a tournament OPEN to those who have reached the top spot on the ladder- that is the only criteria.. (as of date) thanks again for your input and support-- r4 |

more on cube play servechilled-- ladders do not allow for cube play a win is a win-- period the end-- no reward for a gammon or backgammon either. in match play-- you are rewarded for a gammon- and the cube also adds a little more "fun" - do not be intimidated by it if you have never played with the cube-- WHEN YOU FEEL like your gonna win the game- - offer a double- the opponent may just drop right then and there.-- if a double is offered to you and you think you can win it-- accept and maybe you win maybe not but from that point on the game is double AND you control the cube if you have an opportunity to pass it back-- there IS a strategy to the cube and does add a new dimension - and strategy- -- but nothing to "worry" about after a game or two I am sure you will see some good cube play and maybe even some bad cube play-- I think it is a great add to most backgammon formats-- after you get the hang of it - you will be looking for a chuette in your home town!!! lol |

ahhhh a chouette.. that is a form of play for three four or more players where each person has there own cube--- its fast paced and exponentially rewarding or expensive.. usually involves cash.. if you have a local club-- would recommend you give it a try- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backgammon_chouette I spelled it wrong it is CHOUETTE.. |

chilled.. one other note on cubes... doesnt have to be about when your winning or not.. its more about knowing when your opponent is in a situation where they dont think *they* can win... OR.. getting them in a situation they do think they can win but you're confident enough to take a game back. example.. im very proud of my end game when i got someone walled up. i leave trap gaps to entice someone to try to make a run on me, all the time trying to judge probability of their bid for freedom vs what moves it would take me to lock them in. if i see im in a situation where like 60% or higher of possible rolls could lead to them being trapped or double jumped or any similar situation where not necessarily the next move but maybe a move or two down the line will win the game for me, i'll double. the flipside of this is the variable luck brings to the game. a poorly timed double can easily lead to getting gammoned with that double in play. or getting everything switched on you and you getting locked up and the opponent re-doubles and you have no choice but to decline. rainelec has nailed me with that more times then i'd like to say . but i keep getting him in spots im sure i can win so i keep doubling and i keep getting nailed but his more polished experience ... but losing is just another way of saying learning |

notification of results One thing I was contemplating it is up to the person who is defeated to report the results. The results will be posted on the web page. http://r4zzm4t4zz.yolasite.com/ |
