It is currently capped at 32 on the website. And we are at 31 as of today. One more player (please recruit!) and we are all set for BBL-2! The group seeding will be done on Sep.26 and we would be able to start our games right after that.

Friends, we finally got all 32 participants signed up and I closed the registration form on the website. This time we have a lot of newcomers and I wanted to welcome everyone in and add a gentle reminder that since we formed a Blitz league, all players must play fast (and friendly!) games, ideally making multiple moves a day. Our first tournament has been completed just in three weeks because of the players’ commitment not to delay games.

Our group seeding is scheduled for September 26 (in two weeks) and while everyone (including myself) are so eager to start, I’ll still prefer to stick with the original timeline.
We are planning to keep these tournaments on a structural, bi-monthly basis so it’ll be easy to remember for everyone:
The official start of each tournament is on the 1st day of every second month (August, October, December, February, etc.) with the group seeding conducted five days prior.

This will also allow those folks who are on a 25 game limit to ensure they have ample room available for our tournaments and potentially mitigate the risk of further delays.

Here is the final update before the group seeding on Saturday, Sep.26:

1. We have all 32 seats filled, welcoming a large group of newcomers!
2. If you still haven’t done so, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the rules and code of conduct available on the webpage above (bookmark this page!)
3. For the players with the number of games limit, please make all necessary arrangements to make room for new games before Saturday. Similar to last time, we will be able to start playing immediately after the group seeding. The goal is to start ALL games on or before the official tournament start date of Oct.1 to avoid delays.
4. Here are the key changes from the previous tournament:
- Increased the number of participants (from 24 to 32), making it two groups with 16 players in each group. This means you will be playing 15 games on the group stage.
- Added quarterfinals. Top four players from each group will now make the playoffs
- All playoff are set with the best of three, multi-format (1 BG, 1 NG, and 1AD) matches. The group round-robin stage will continue to be played with 1 BG game between all players.
5. IMPORTANT: you will be submitting your results directly on the webpage and not on the forum. The home page of the website will have a dedicated form to submit your individual results.

Please expect the next update on Saturday, September 26 opening the tournament!
