The first round of ZE tournaments seem to take forever.

The latest tournament - tournament number 60, started on 1st September.

That is a month ago.

The vast majority of games are usually finished inside two weeks, yet there are one or two players who drag these tournaments out for weeks and weeks.

And it is ALWAYS the EXACT same players.

Statemanager in group 66 has only completed 3 of his nine games in one month (and lost them all).

Liberty in group 9 has also only managed to finish 3 games in a month. (and lost 2 of them).

Hey - you can understand if this happens once or twice - but EVERY SINGLE TOURNAMENT ?????

I thought the point of joining this website was to play backgammon. If one isn't really into playing - why join. And more importantly, why enter tournaments????

I believe that the fact that the same two players can hold up proceedings for the remaining 280 players in the tournament is unfair.

You are right, Suntsu, and so is everyone else who has complained about the unsportsmanlike behaviour that several - not two! - players seem to display.
Unfortunately, that are too many here - mostly from northern countries - who seem to think that this behaviour is fine since it TECHNICALLY does not violate the rules of ZE.
The best way to handle it would be for ZE to change its rules, copy Gameknot and end a round once 99% (preferably 95%) of the games are complete.
If you would like to suggest this to ZE

2. Good Luck! - as even the best of suggestions here don't stand a shred of a chance!

stagemanager has made between 22 and 33 moves in 6 games in the second round which started on August 4th. That is 56 days, 56!!!. Another player George 1955 has set vacation mode for 9 days, despite the fact that his only outstanding game has no bearing on the final standing.

What is going on in these people's minds?

Further to the AD # 28 issue (first round started April 21st, second round August 4th!!!), I had a bit of a chinwag with stagemanager and got the response "I am unable and unwilling to change the rate of speed at which I play. Perhaps you could lobby the website to make time limits for Tournaments shorter."

I suggested that perhaps they only play standalone games so as not to hold up everybody else who just want to get on with the tournament, and make some sort of effort particularly since they are already effectively out of this one. Stagemanager has now resigned one of the outstanding games.

Sideshowbob2012 = was kicked off by ZE for foolish and unsportsmanlike behavior in 2013.

Nemesis999 = was kicked off by ZE for foolish and unsportsmanlike behavior in 2013.

poiuyt = was kicked off by ZE for foolishand unsportsmanlike behavior in 2013.

Darthvader = was kicked off by ZE for foolish and unsportsmanlike behavior in 2013.

Athena = was kicked off by ZE for foolish and unsportsmanlike behavior in 2014.

Suntsu = The only person to be kicked off ZE 5 consecutive times under 5 different screen names for foolish and unsportsmanlike behavior.

I am also waiting in AD 28,29  
I hv an active ladder game also against one of the mentioned players and in last 21 days only 10 moves are made in that game

I reckon ZE is on more fault here rather than players, When a result of a game has no effect on the group then why wait to end that game. And after a particular no. of days it should be like GK,use ur servers to calculate game outcome and award that game to a player and move ahead.

There is a joke that once a kid asked her mother to drink water in late night,mother got annoyed and said sleep quietly otherwise i will hit u with a stick. Kid replied mom when u will go outside to bring the stick then carry a glass of water also  
So if ZE is noticing "U" then pz ask officials to respond on this issue also, This annoys us in every 2nd tourney when players hold all other players.

knockout tourneys with a 1 week time limit is a temporary solution, I hope you all are aware about it,no one drags games there, If i remember correctly Suntsu played few tourneys when he was new on the site and got every help he needed from the hosts.  


We start Double Elimination tourney on every 1st of month and simple KO tourney on 15th of every month.
If any1 has ratings problems they can play unrated games also
