Let's try the opposite

I had games recently during bearing off I had six 12 rolls in a row and in one game against grab68 I had an anchor on 5 and had 17 throws (34 total dice) without throwing a 5. I think that might be close to winning lotto odds.

My opponent just got 8 doubles in 12 rolls. It was a short game.

astronomical odds

Not being a particularly gifted mathematician, whilst I can calculate odds without too much difficulty, I can't explain why such unlikely events as six consecutive 66 rolls (at odds of around 2 billion to 1) occur as often as they do around here. Astronomically unlikely events occur all around us every single day though, outside of the world of backgammon...

Igor,

You may not be a mathematician, but you don't have to be. Someone at ZE did the math for you. Check out the response to FAQ #27:

Odds

So my six rolls of 12 is 18*18*18*18*18*18 / 49.88 rolls per game so once ever 681,880 games.
