Re forced moves

Please provide us with a specific example of a recent game in which there was a forced move for you (copy/paste the URL into a post or into a contact us request). Please note that the setting for forced moves applies only to your moves and not to the game (meaning that if your opponent has forced moves enabled, they will still occur for that player).

Rating lists

When I look at the monthly rating list and the overall rating list, they are exact replicas of each other. Position, name and rating. This seems very unlikely. Surely one player at least would have a different rating on the two tables. Suggest to me that there might be an incorrect SQL statement on at least one of them.

Re: Rating lists

Thanks for your question!

The position, name and rating are the same for players who appear in both lists because the tables are generated at the same time. You will also notice that people in the top are very active (most have finished at least 1 game today), so until top players become less active or drop in their ratings, they will remain top players in both lists. Note that this is not the case with the top tables in our other games (Word Zoo and Sudoku).

Re: Rating Lists

Ok. I'm an idiot. For some reason (senility perhap) I made the mistake of equating Monthly with current. My bad. Thanks for the answer. Any chance of a current standings table?

Tournament points

I believe the point system for ranking should be separated from regular games and tournaments.
While I am on 1600 and 1700 ranking, I usually don't play with anyone below 1600 ranking because of win-loss points difference on a regular game... For example, while I am near 1700 ranking..... I lose to the opponent (ranking 1490) by gammon. I believe I would lose around 14 points.

My suggestion for all tournament games- For every tournament win,
-all players earn 3 points.
-For every loss, all players lose three points.
-Gammon= 6 points for all players to earn if they win or lose 6 points if they lose.
-Backgammon- 10 points for all players if they win or lose 10 points if they lose. That way, their rankings can be reasonable to go up or down....

It is just my suggestion. If you go for it, you can adjust the point system. I am flexible.

Again, thank you for few more new features as well as looking forward to the Ladder!
